HINTS FOR THE SPORTS GIRL
“PALI'', HANDS” FOR THE Glßfi MOTORIST. The girl " - ho niiiN ;i car nr a motor cycle i.s apt to despair of over possossin" lily-while, and ca red-1 or looking hands, for I here is always something to ho done to make thorn grimy and rough. Of course she can put off doing dirty jobs until there is someone else to help; hut it is much more satisfactory to trout the hands before “ tinkering ” with the engine. It may he possible to buy a, preparation to rub on the hands which makes the dirt very easy to remove; but in an emergency a little engine oil ruhhed in before starting work has the same effect. All motorists arc in danger of having jot-tipped finger nails, and before starting on a run or doing any work on the engine it i.s a good plan to wrape them on a cake of soap. This facilitates later work with the nail brush. Cold cream or oil should he used in preference to glycerine preparations. And the golden rule on a return from a run is to wait and warm the hands before washing, or purple, swollen hand/? will result, and the “ pale hands ” will he further away than ever.
