SHIPPING AGREEMENT
APPROVED BY AMERICAN BOARD WASHINGTON, February 21. (Received February 23, at 1.30 a.in.) The Shipping Board approved of the agreement between the American, Australian, Orient, Dollar, Luckenbach, and Allan and American-Pacific steamship lines, providing for the handling of through shipments from Atlantic coast ports to Australia and New Zealand, the through rates to be apportioned equally between the intercoastal carrier and the American, Australia, and Orient lines. The cost of transhipment at San Francisco or Los Angeles will, it is assumed, be in equal proportions.
