During the Air Force’s effective bombing pursuit of the Wahabi raiders under Ism Akwan, who attacked Koweit, Flying-officer Rolf Jackson was fatally shot down, his aeroplane was burnt, and the mechanic is reported to have been captured. Two thousand of Akwan’s warriors had crossed the Iraq border and attacked a largo Jowarian encampment. A pitched battle resulted, m which eighty were killed and 200 wounded. Akwan’s casualties were heavier, and ho lost all his flocks and herds.
