MR SPEIGHT'S DEATH
A. AND P. SOCIETY’S RESOLUTION The president, Mr \V. 0. M'Kollar, before proceeding with tho business of the Otago A. and P. Society this morning, referred to the loss tho community had sustained through the death of Mr Chas. Speight, and moved—“ That this meeting place on record its deep sense of the loss the community had sustained in the death of Mr Chas. Speight. The meeting also desires to express if a appreciation of the many valuable services ho rendered to the business community, for his ready assistance and advice on all matters pertaining to the welfare of the city, and for his unswerving loyalty to the British Empire, That a copy of this minute bo forwarded to Mrs Speight and family, expressing tho committee's sincere sympathies with them in their recent sac! bereavement.” Tho motion was carried, members standing. Mr M'Kollar also referred to tho death of Mr R. W. Glendining and Mr R. Reid, both of whom took a keen interest in (ho extension and promotion of our agricultural and pastoral interests, and advised that letters of sympathy had already been sent, by the executive.
