LATE EARL OF OXFORD
SIMPLE SERVICE AT ALL SAINTS’ The Earl of Oxford and Asquith’s manservants carried the coffin to All Saints’ Church last evening, preceded by tho village choir and men bearing torches, and followed by the Countess and her four sons. After a simple service, the local people filed past the coffin, which was almost concealed by flow’ers and wreaths stretching from the doorway to the altar. BRITISH PENNY POSTAGE CABINET DECIDES AGAINST RESTORATION. LONDON, February 19. The political correspondent of the ‘ Daily Mail ’ says it is understood that Cabinet has decided against the restoration of penny postage.—Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
