It was reported at Masterton that the sale had been effected at a record price for New Zealand of Mr A. Matthews’s Romney ram to Mr Allan Galt, of Mavis Bank, Mataura. The ram is the son of a ram which was sold last year by Mr Matthews for SOOgs to Mr W. R. Glasson (New South Wales), who won the grand championship with him at the last Sydney Royal Show, The actual price paid hy Mr Galt was not disclosed, but the firm which made the sale states that it is a freah record for New Zealand. The ram is to be exhibited at all tho leading South Island shows.
