SCIENCE CLASS MISHAP. A Pahiatua Association message states that it was found necessary yesterday to perform another operation on the lad Leslie Wilfred Murphy, who was recently seriously injured in the abdomen as the result of an explosion at the District High School. At the first operation a piece of jagged glass was removed. The explosion occurred in the science laboratory, where a number of secondary pupils, including Murphy, were attending a lesson dealing with the use of sodium for the purpose of collecting hydrogen. The explosion smashed a large jar to fragments. BEES CAUSE DEATH. .
