ST. KILDA BEACH.

TO THE EDITOE. Sir, —Regarding the Life Saving Club revival, 1 noticed that at a public meeting held in Ihe Town Hall Mr Hall, Mayor, of St. Kilda, made a statement that the life-saving reel now at Tomahawk Beach was taken by me when the St. Kilda Surf and Life Saving Chib went out of action. I might state for Mr Hall’s benefit that the reel on Tomahawk Beacli belongs to tho residents of Tomahawk, having been bought with the proceeds of a concert, and as the reel was damaged a subscription list was lately taken round the district for its repair. I might state that there is still a sum of money owing on tho reel. Perhaps Mr Hall could see his way to send a small donation towards tho deficiency. As to the old St. Kilda Surf and Life Saving Club, X might also state that there were four sheds—two at St. Kilda and two at Forbury—two for ladies and two for men, and four lifesaving reels (two at St. Kilda and two at Forbury), with four emergency belts, two stretchers, and two ship’s lifebuoys. 1 also understand that there was about £4O in hand, members’ and the public’s money. Perhaps Mr Hall could find out where the assets of the now defunct club have gone to.—l am, etc., J. Pereira. Tomahawk, February 16.
