SECOND MURDER CHARGE
HICKMAN AND COMPANION Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, February 15. (Received February 16, at noon.) News from Los Angeles states that the trial has commenced of Hickman and his youthful companion, Willoughby limit, for the murder of Thoms, a Pasadena chemist. [After his arrest in connection with the murder of the twelve-year-old schoolgirl, Marion Parker, Hickman was asked if he had killed any other person. He replied: “I killed Thoms, a Pasadena druggist, while Willoughby Hunt and myself were holding up his place on Christmas Eve last year.” The police immediately arrested Hunt, who strenuously denied the crime. Hickman recalled the details of the shooting, and declared that Hunt was wounded by a policeman while escaping from gaol. A physician examined Hunt, and found a bullet scar on his shoulder. Hunt later confessed, but claimed that Hickman fired the fatal shots.]
