(Received February 15, at 12.30 p.m.) In the House of Commons Mr Amery, in reply to a question, said that, arising from tho Imperial Conference, also inliccordance with Mr Coates’s own request, Mr Nicholls had been appointed a Foreign Office representative permanently attached to Mr Coates’s department" in a consultative and informative capacity, but in no sense was he a representative of His Majesty’s Government.
