H.S.V. TEAM ABBIVES [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, February 14. With eyes keenly fixed on the Now Zealand ilisley, which is to open at Trentham on the 23rd of this month, a party of twelve stalwart Australians arrived by the Maunganui this morning as the representatives of the National Rifle Council of New South Wales. .They are from all parts of the State, having only three “shots” from Sydney. Mr A. R. M'Leod, the captain of the team, is a newspaper man irom Manila. He is a member of the National Rifle Council, as also are Messrs E. W. Wiles Smith and F. Stockbridge. The other members of the team are Messrs E. Boyd, A. W. Lattimer, B. F. Freath, G. Forge, E. J. Channon, A. S. Pergusson, H. A. Taylor, A. K. Johnston, and W. J. Fulton. On their arrival the visitors were met by the members of the New Zealand body. Although arrangements are not finalised, it is expected that on the way to Wellington the team will shoot a match with a Wairarapa team at Greytown. They will break their journey at Frankton Junction to visit Rotorua. On their return to Australia the members of the team will leave Wellington on Friday, March 2. “We have a thoroughly representative team,” said Mr M'Leod, “the National Council having drawn on the length and breadth of the State. Those of us who met the New Zealand team on Anzac range, at Liverpool, in October last, are keenly looking forward to again being in touch with Captain Masefield and his men. New Zealanders are well thought of by Australian riflemen.”
