CHAMPION CYCLISTS INJURED

CHRISTCHURCH, February 14,
The champion Australian cyclists, Standen and Gray, had the misfortune to meet with an accident at their first pracl.i'je on Ihe English Park track. The two visitors were riding with the local riders, F. Grose and AV. Mackic. Standen was in the lend, set ting a fast pace, Mackic second. Grose third, and Gray fourth. The pedal of Standee's machine struck Urn asphalt., and he fell, being badly skinned on the logs. Mackie foil over Sfandon, but escaped with light scratches. Grose, in avoiding the fallen men rode into the fence, and was injured so badly that ho was sent to the hospital. His condition is reported as serious. Gray fell, hut was not hurt badly. Gray and Standen may he able to ride at the sports tomorrow.
