HOOD BEATS JOHHSON PRINCE OF WALES A SPECTATOR. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 13. Jack Hood, the welter-weight champion, won on points from Len Johnson, the colored Manchester boxer. The Prince of Wales paid his first visit to the famous ring, and was greeted by a record crowd, in which London’s extremes —cast and westmet. The Prince, accompanied by Ins equerry, sat behind Jimmy Wilde, and enjoyed himself thoroughly. Mrs Burge, a proud woman, said: “ When Dick died in 1918 I carried on at his request. To-night my life’s dream is fulfilled, for I have got the Prince here to see what 1 call real boxing.” Happily it was a fight worth while. Hood gained the victory because he was superior to the Black Sphinx, his rival. The Prince had a tumultuous send off from 15,000 people outside the main entrance and from 10.000 in side streets. CRIME AND GARCIA. NEW YORK. February 13. The Grime-Garcia bout has been postponed till February 20, due to the indisposition of both boxers. Grime’s illness is not serious, but Garcia was slightly injured while training.
