SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Press Associatiou —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, February 13. The wool sales were marked by the keenest competition of the whole season, all sections—France, America, and Yorkshire —bidding very strongly. Super, wools were unchanged, but all other classes of llecce wool were par to 5 per cent, higher. Skirtings advanced fully 5 per cent., and crossbreds of all grades improved similarly. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., report,— Oats.—There have been a few inquiries for A grade Cartons this last week, but very little business transpired owing to few being available in this city. A little forward selling has been done on the basis of 2s 10d for A Gortons and 2s 7d for H Gartens, on truck, country stations.
AVhcat. —Harvesting is general in Central Otago, and threshing is starting in some quarters. The crops, on the whole, are better than last season’s. Last season’s wheat is still coming on flic market to cope with the fowl feed demand, and this is selling at prices up to 6s 6d per bushel, sacks extra, ex truck, Dunedin. Chaff—Tlie few consignments arriving are sufficient to fill all inquiries nt present. Prices do not vary te any extent, and value to-day is £5 5s per ton. sacks extra, Dunedin, for prime quality. Potatoes.—The market is over-sup-plied at present, and as the tubers are still unripe values have' eased. _ Top price to-day is £6 per ton, sacks in, ex store, Dunedin.
