BANKRUPTCY ACT
BREACHES ALLEGED [Per United Press Association.] HAMILTON', February 10. A Hamilton builder, Thomas Edward Waters, appeared before the Magistrate’s Court to-day on three charges of breaches of the Bankruptcy Act—viz.. failing to keep proper books, contracting debts which ho had no reasonable or probable chance of paying, and wilfully failing to keep proper books with intent to conceal the true slate of his a flairs. Waters, who pleaded not guilty, was committed to the Supremo Court for trial. WELLINGTON. February 10. In the retrial of Arthur George Wallace, who was adjudged a bankrput on November 11), 19215, on charges of contracting debts without reasonable expectation of being able to pay them, the jury after nearly four hours’ retirement failed to agree. A new trial was ordered for Monday, at 10,30 a.in.
