BOWLERS FAREWELLED

(Pbk United Press Association.} WELLINGTON, February 9. The New Zealand howlers about to engage on a world tour were to-day given a civic farewell by the mayor (Mr G. A. Troup). Also present were Mr K. S. Williams (representing the Government), Sir Thomas Mackenzie (ex-High Commissioner for New Zealand), Mr S. M. Stone (vice-president of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association), Mr M. Marks (president of the Wellington Centre), Mr J. Kershaw (a member of the Dominion Council), and members of the Wellington City Council Afterwards a friendly game, eight rinks each of fifteen heads, was played by the tourists against Wellington teams, the New Zealand team winning by 119 points to 113. The tourists will sail for Sydney to-morrow at noon.
