NEW ZEALAND NAVY

VESSEL FOR BATTLE PBAGTfGE [Feb United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, February 8. A huge battle-practice target in the form of a vessel for use by the New Zealand Navy was launched this morning in the presence of the mayor (Mr Baildon), Commander Bradley (officer in charge of the naval base), and Jsn-gincer-commander Marchant. As Mrs Bradley deftly performed the christening the vessel slipped gracefully into the water, but then heeled over and capsized, but gradually righted and rested on an even keel. It was built at a cost approximately of £1.0,000. The target is the first of its kind attempted in this part of tho world.
