OPEN-AIR ENTERTAINMENT
An open-air entertainment, to bo hold at Carishrook on Saturday eveniny; next, promises to be a most interesting I’unction. The chief attraction will no doubt piovn to be the quickstep exhibition by the Kaikorai, St. Kilda, Tramways, Mosgiel, and Dunedin Pipe Hands, and the public will have an opportunity of hearing the marches to be performed at the next contest, and to see (ho bands going through the various quickstep evolutions. Besides, there will be a. mile cycle race, 100yds, 300yds, mile, and mile relay race by runners connected with the Otago Centre, and a ! i rim ary school relay race has also been arranged lor. hi connection with the entertainment an art union is being held, the prizes being £lO, £5, £3, £2, and £l. Purchasers of these tickets not only have a-chance of securing one of these valuable prizes, but the tickets also admit to the entertainment. These tickets are on sale at the Oiago Sports Depot, but will not, he on sale at tho gates.
