Exchange still T 9 mains on (ho quiet side, but as considerable sums of money will soon be disributed an early improvement is looked for, and the present is probably a good time to make purchases of sound investment stocks. Banking shares arc all firm, and the buying ai.J selling quotations are for the most part very close. There arc buyers for practically all the shares in the insurance and shipping sections, with very few sellers. Loan and agency shares are inquired for, buyers offering £l3 16s for Dalgetys, £2 7s 9d for Goldsbrough Moris, and 13s for National Mortgage and Agencies. There is practically no change in the miscellaneous group, and there are buyers for most of the Government debentures, Myilyneui Electrics aro in better demand, 12s fid being offered, with no seller under 17s 6d. Buyers offered £1 5s 6d this morning for Upper Nevis shares, with sellers at £1 Ss. Quotations ae under;
