EVENING SPORTS CARNIVAL
To-inorrou evening I lie Otago Athletic and Cycling Club will hold a sports meeting on tiio Caledonian Ground. The running emits have drawn largo entries, including such well-known performers as It. Webb (tho speedy University three-quarter), R. Oliver (the League flyer), F. Huddleston, A. M'Lachlan, and J. Harris, besides the half-in iters C. Matheson and E. K. M‘Gillivray. However, the cycling will be the big attraction, as P.liil O'Shea and H. G. Watson, of Christchurch, will figure in a match race, besides competing in the open events. Watson, the present Xew Zealand champion road cyclist, has been chosen to represent New Zealand in the biggest cycling event in the world, “ The Grand Prix,” and will leave tor France next week. O’Shea, ex-Anstralasian and New Zealand champion, and holder of many records, is riding as well as over. The local riders include such wcll-nown performers as Noel Mackey, \V. Robertson, A. Wills, and A. Ralston (of Green Island.
