Aliss Jimsio C. Fraser’s concert party gave a lengthy and varied programme at the Caversham Benevolent Home, on Saturday evening. Tho eld folk opened the programme with a community sing, and many request numbers were asked' for. Air Moses Mann, one of the oldest inmates, recited ‘New Zealand is Loyal ’ most creditably. Then followed a pianoforte solo by Aliss Clara Scofield, clog dance and Irish jig by Aliss Essie Johnston, recitation by Miss Maude Driver, vocal solo ‘ Thora ’ by Air Dalrnnres APDonald, tenor horn solo by Air Harold Jackson, vocal solo ‘ Daddy ’ by Mrs De Silva, cornet solo ‘ Moonlight and Roses’ by Aliss Moreen Phillips, vocal solo ‘Still as the Night’ by Airs Bradley, violin solo by Mr Joseph Do Silva, comic song ‘ Ethel ’ by Alastor Eddie Phillips, Irish jig by Miss Jill Fox, selected vocal solos by Madame Newcombe-Hall. Twenty minutes’ entertainment was then given by Afr T. De Spong, who had his audience convulsed with laughtcix Tho concluding item was a solo. ‘Nirvana,’ by Mr J. D. Silva. The manager (Air APPberson), on behalf of tho patients and staff, thanked Miss Fraser and the performers, and said ever since Christmas all in tho home had been looking forward to a. continuance of tho monthly concerts. Aliss Fraser, in reply, said it was a pleasure to her to organise these_ concerts, and that it was her intention to provide an entertainment on the first Saturday in every month throughout the year.
