OUTING TO WOODSIDE
A. AND T. INGLIS’S PICNIC. There are some _ pretty picnicking places in the Taieri district, but few more delightful spots could be found than the Woodside Glen, where the staff of Messrs A. and T. Inglis held their annual picnic on Saturday. , Seven buses were necessary to convey a happy throng of well over one hundred from the city to the picnicking ground, and the weather conditions could hardly have been better, the gathering being one of the most successful and enjoyable the firm has yet held. The arrangements left nothing to be desired, thanks to a hardworking band of officials, which was beaded by the general manager (Mr G Lothian), Mr W. Caulcutt (chairman of the Picnic Committee), and a most energetic secretary in Mr E. Sudden.
A pond that had been dammed up served as a bathing pool, and its attractions were such that throughout the day it was filled by bathers, who left the tempting waters just in time to participate in the sports meeting, which was the star event of the day.
