THE WASHINGTON CONVENTION BRITAIN WANTS REVISION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright _ GENEVA, February 2. The British Government’s delegate (Mr H. B. Bafterton) at to-day’s meeting at the International Labor Office, moved in favor of the revision of the Washington Eight-hour Convention. He suggested that the Labor Office should prepare a report for submission to all countries, and the revised convention could be discussed at the 1929 session. _ He said that the Washington Convention had been hurridly concluded. The workers’ delegates strongly opposed revision, and demanded ratification of the existing convention. M. Jouhaux, the French Labor delegate, said that the Continental delegates at Washington had reluctantly adopted the British They'were completely opposed to revision. The discussion will be continued tomorrow—A. and N.Z.. and ‘Sun’ Cable.
