AUSTRALIAN GOLFERS

A LETTER OP APPRECIATION. The secretary of the New Zealand Golf Association has received the following letter from Dr P. Sydney Jones, captain of the New South Wales golf team:— “ Before leaving your fair land, may I he permitted to express, on behalf of the members of the New South Wales golf team, their deep appreciation of the generous hospitality of the New Zealand Golf Association; and not only the association, but the playing members of your N.ew Zealand clubs and the officials of those clubs? Wherever we have gone nothing but the greatest kindness and generosity has been showered on ns. Personally, I think the New South Wales team has behaved in the correct spirit of the great game of golf, and I hope the players have left in New Zealand the impression that they are true spoits. How can I thank your association enough for your kind thoughtfulness in giving me a special miniature ot the cup? I shall indeed cherish it as a reminder of a most wonderful time at the hands of most wonderful sportsmen in a most wonderful land. ! have not expressed half of what 1 feel, but 1 am sure that you know my heart is full. ' Please give me the chance of repaying the debt to you all at the next Kirk-Windeyer Cup in Victoria. — Yours sincerely, P. Sydney Jones.”-
