INFANT DISAPPEARS
POLICE SEARCHING SWAMP DALMATIAN CHARGED WITH MURDER [Pkr United Press Association.] WHANGAREI, September Bh Paul Lomlich, a Dalmatian, viged forty-live years, was charged in the Kaitaia Police Court on Saturday, before Mr D. M'lntosh, J.P., will: the wilful murder of an infant child of which it is alleged he was the father, the mother being Rosie Tc Whaui, a ninotecn-year-old Maori girl, who was living with accused. The girl gave birth to a male child at their wharo on August 2d, and after giving it a drink, she laid the baby on the bed, where it cried. Londieli is then alleged to have said: “1 am taking it away.” He is said to have left the place with the inlaid, and nothing more has been scon of it. A remand till Saturday next was granted, the accused being retained in custody in the meantime. The police arc searching the swamp nearby in an endeavor to recover the body of the infant.
