POSTMASTER STRUCK DOWN
£290 MISSING tSPECUt TO THE ‘ SXXE.’J AUCKLAND, September 19. It is reported from Hamilton that the postmaster at Ngongotaha (a flag station and Maori settlement on the Prankton-Rotorua railway, about twelve miles from the latter place) was found unconscious in tho burning ollieo. On recovery lie stated that, while opening tho mail, he was struck on the head from behind. It is understood that a considerable sum of money is missing, £2OO being mentioned.
