DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. v , ' For a Saturday quotations were fairly brisk this morning Sales were effected in Auckland Amusement Parks at 16s, and a sale of Bank of Australias was reported at £l4 15s. There have been sales during the week at £l4 14s and £l4 15s, while last week there was a sale at £ls. Bank of New South Wales have also eased since last week, sellers asking £46 19s, as against £44 5s a week ago. Bank New Zealands were wanted at 57s 9d, with sellers at 58s 3d. There have been sales during the week at 58s 3d and 58s. Buyers offered £6 15s for National Bank'of New Zealands, with no sellers. Sams have been effected as high as £0 15s during the week. Quotations in tho insurance section were on a par with those of last week. Huddart, Parkers were inquired for at 46s 9d this morning, but were without sellers. Bast week buyers offered £263 lot P. and 0. Deferred Stock, and had sellers at £2BO. This morning, however, sellers offered £270, with no buyers. At a meeting of the P. and 0. Company, held in London, which was called to authorise the increase in the deterred stock, shareholders contended that tho now stock should be issued to deferred .shareholders only and not to holders of preference shares. Lord Tnchcapc, the chairman, pointed out that under the company’s charlei stock must be olfered to both preferred and deferred shareholders. The position appears to be now that deferred shareholders object to preference shareholders participating in tho new increase of capital. The directors will either have to cancel the proposed increase in capital or have the company’s charter amended by Act of Parliament. Westport Coals were wanted at 33s 6d with no sellers quoting. For New Zealand Loan and Mcretui tiles (ord.) buyers offered £92, as against £93 a week ago. A seller of Perpetual Trustees came on the market at 61s. Auckland Amusement Parks Jiavef had a fair amount of business during the week, to-day’s quotes being 15s Del buyers, 16s 3d sellers, with sales at 16s. Buyers offered 28s 6d (ox div.) for Milburn Lime and Cements, as against 28s 6ci cum dividend a week ago. New Zealand Paper Mills finned slightly during the week, buyers offering 16s this morning, without sellers. Investors have the idea that tho new tariff regulations will benefit this company. Waihis have receded during the fast few days, with sales as low as 21s KJd, sellers this morning asking 225, with buyers at 21s 6d. Upper Nevis quotes were the same as last week. Hie contractors have again made a start uopu the erection of tho dredge, and, given a continuance of fine weather, operations should be commenced in' November.
