OTAGO RUGBY TEAM
DARK BLUES' SIDE TO MEET CANTERBUtit (Tr.oit Oca Own Reporter.} CHRISTCHURCH, September 16. The Otago touring team will to*morrow meet Canterbury at Lancaster Park. After a lino trip from Wellington on the Maori the Otago team reached here this morning, and later had practice. The following team has been picked to represent the Dark Blues; Heazlewood. Stewart. Peterson, .M'Clymout, Eon Callender, Mitchell, Holden: Souter. Lawless, Sonntag, Stevens, Here, Marslin, Dougherty, end Pinlayson. Ross has greatly recovered from tho injury he received in the Bush Union match, but is not quite fit enough for to-morrow’s game. Peterson’s rib, after all. was not broken, and ho is tit and well for the game. Unfortunately the injury to Lindsay’s kneo keeps him out of the team, but tho combination should be strengthened by the inclusion of M'Clymout, who arrived from Dunedin to-day. Neither M'Grcgor nor Lilburne m available for the Canterbury team owing to injuries, bub nevertheless it is a strong side, including the All Blacks Steel, Ilobilliard, Dailey, White, and Alley.
There is no reason to think that tba Canterbury forwards are stronger than any of the North Island packs Hii-iii were beaten by the Otago forwards. If Otago secures reasonable possession of the ball there is every reason to predict a win against the shield-holders, whoso backs can hardly have better combination than that of Otago. The weather to-day is the best the team lias had on tho tour.
