SYDNEY, September 15. In tho test case in which a wellknown bookmaker was charged with betting at a mechanical bare racing meeting, tho magistrate imposed a penalty of £2O, ruling that mechanical racing was not a true coursing meeting at which the Betting Act permitted betting. Notice of appeal lias been lodged.
