Tie monthly meeting of lie Moray Place School Committee was held on Monday evening last. Mr Vernon Smith presided over a fair attendance of members. The Kaikorai Presbyterian Tenuis Club was granted a release of tie school court for tie season. Accounts amounting to £3B 15s were passed for payment. The head master reported that the roll number was 286 and the average attendance 268. Fortyfive of tie pupils, accompanied by teachers, had made a trip to Middlemarch to - play games with the local school. They had been most royally entertained by Mr Taylor (head master! and members of the committee. Although the weather was not all that could have been desired", the outing was a most enjoyable one. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of thanks and appreciation of the.kindness of Mr Taylor aud his committee in making the trip such an enjoyable one. The school was inspected before reopening after tha spring vacation by members of the committee, Education Board, and parents of pupils, and everything was spotlessly clean and sanitary, which reflected great credit on the janitor (Mr K. Hunter). The instructor reported that both the and fife and drum bands were making satisfactory progress., Messrs F G. P.aapp and H. F. Payton, in conjunction with the head master, were appointed a committee to make arrangements for the'annual concert in October in aid of the school funds.
