CANTERBURY V. OTAGO At Carisbrook on Saturday next the final match of the series for the F.A. Trophy will be played betwen tho Canterbury and Otago representatives. Tho Canterbury province will be _ represented by its strongest side, as its draw with Auckland last week gives Canterbury a possible chance of securing the trophy, provided it defeats the local eleven by 3 clear goals. Canterbury’s goalkeeper is the redoubtable J. M'Dougall, who represented New Zealand in all the tests against the Canadians, whilst Trotter, centre forward, is reputed to bo tho most versatile player in this position in the dominion. Several changes have been made in the Otago team, two of the players, Coats and Munro, being now to representative honors, but the local side should fully extend the players from the sister province. A curtain raiser between the two leading teams in the second division, Northern and Maori Hill, will bo played, and as these teams are at equal ’strength a fine contest for tho premiership should ho witnessed.
