LONDON WOOL SALES. Prets Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 13. (Received September 14. at 11.5 a.m.) At the London wool sales 12,030 bales were offered, including 2,(348 Puntas. There was a representative selection, but a largo proportion of second-hand lots. There was a crowded attendance from all quarters, and bidding was confident, but not excited. Merinos and cross-breds were both par to 5 per cent, above July closing prices. The appreciation in case merinos was chiefly for the finest haired Continental sorts. There were no improvements in short faulty sorts. The advance in cross-breds was mostly for slipes and lowest grades. New Zealand sales; Maranui (top price) 21d, average 19d. Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., are to-day in receipt of a cable from their London agents, Dated Kith inst.. reading as under;—“Sales have opened; competition good; largo attendance of buyers; all sections operating freely. Greasy merino, market par to 5 per cent, advance; scoured merino, market firm; cross-bred greasy comeback and cross-bred greasy fine, none offering; cross-bred greasy medium, market par to 5 per cent, advance; cross-bred greasy coarse, advanced 5 per cent.; cross-bred scoured and slipc cross-bred, market firm.” CHICAGO WHEAT QUOTATIONS.
