To-night, at Burns Hall, the students or John T. Leech will present a comprehensive song recital. Ju addition to interesting selections by advanced students a nuiuncr ol part songs and madrigals will bo contributed by the Hync Choir. The madrigal lias an irresistible charm with its interwoven meiodies. Tiie choice will include both ancient and modern compositions. Patrons will hear tor the nrst time on the concert platform in Dunedin the greatest ensemble number in opera, ‘ The bexiette,' irom '• Lucia de Lammermoor,’ by JJonizctti. The inspiring and wonderful arrangement leaves tuo main theme always surging through tho mind. Those associated in the ‘ Sextette ’ are Miss Valda G. APCurdy (soprano), Miss Stuart Mitchell (contralto;, Air Waiter Mitchell (baritone), Messrs - Arundel Perry and James Simpson (tenors), and Air W. G. Hilliker (basso), Mr John T. Leech and Mr L. A. North will sing ‘The Day is Gone,’ with violin obbligato by Aiiss Eva Judd. Aliss Judd and Miss Muriel Caddie will contribute an instrumental duo. The accompanists will be Air Leonard S. James and Aliss Erna Fountain.
