A programme of musical and other items designed lor reception in Australia- was broadcast yesterday under the direction of Air Gerald -larcusc from his station at Catcrham (Kent). Tho High Commissioner for Australia contributed a speech to the programme. Arrangements had been made for relaying the programme by stations in Australia. A cablegram from Australia slated that the opening of yesterday’s programme had been well received. 8.8.C.’s ELANS. LONDON, September 12. (Received September 13, at 1 p.m.) If the British Broadcasting Company’s experiments arc successful there is a chance that English listeners, if they prefer cricket to bed, may Hear broadcast descriptions of the test matches in Australia in 1928-29. The corporation is confident that it has mastered the transmitting difficulties. The next experiments will be to America, with tho object of per feeling reception. Then perhaps early next year it will make Empire broadcasts.-
