HOTEL FIRE
TWO LIVES LOST HEROIC ATTEMPT AT RESCUE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, SYDNEY, September 12. (Received September 13, at 1.30 a.in.) Fire at Rowena destroyed Tlie Rowena Hotel. Two men named George King and Stephen Francis, who were staying the night at the hotel, were awakened by the fire. _ Francis jrnn from the hotel, but, finding that King was still inside, returned, and in a futile endeavor to rescue him was badly burned, and died in hospital. King’s remains were later found in the ruins of the building.
