Because they refused to pay the fines imposed as tho result of the strike of the mechanical staff of the newspaper ‘West Australian,’ two members of tho union wero arrested and detained to servo three days’ imprisonment. The mechanical staff held a stop-work meeting, and adjourned for twenty-four hours. As a result, there will ho no issue of tho ‘ West Australian ’ to-day.
