DR PETTIT'S LECTURES

Many of our citizens will remember tho- lecture on social problems delivered in this city about ten years ago by Dr William Pettit, of Auckland. Tho lecturer was then on the staif at the Featherston camp, and had charge of the lectures on sex problems to tho members of our Expeditionary Force. To-morrow Dr Pettit will deliver two special addresses to men and women in tho Octagon Hall on these vital matters, and in view of the prevailing ignorance and moral laxity tho importance of the subject can hardly bo exaggerated. Even where parents recognised the necessity for warning and instructing their children, they are often deterred because of the difficulties of the task, aud many will be glad to avail themselves of the help of a medical man qualified to handle effectively these delicate problems. During the following ten days Dr Pettit will speak in Knox Church on various aspects of the relationship between the modern scientific outlook’ and the inspiration of the Scriptures. These addresses will deal with the pressing intellectual problems which are causing such widespread unrest and uncertainty among thoughtful men and women at the present hour.
