DRUIDISM.
The meeting of the Ivanhoo Lodge, held kst Monday, was an exceedingly pleasant one. Tho attendance was large. Arch Druid Bro. C. E. Davis presided. £lO 15s sick pay was passed. Two candidates were initiated. Bros. Collier, P. A., Thompson, A.D., Madigan, Jelly, and. Cooksey responded to the visitors' toast. The syllabus item was a sentimental song competition, and brought forth 15 contestants. Mrs Isaacs presided at tho piano, and Bro. Eager was judge. In announcing his decision the judge complimented the performers on the excellent rendering they had given, and awarded the first prizo to Bro. C. A. Moss, Ivanhoe Lodge, and the second to Bro. Taylor, Enterprise Lodge. Both Mrs Isaacs and Bro. Eager were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their services. Arch Druid Bro. Bridges presided over the meeting of the Linden Lodge on Tuesday evening. The business was quickly disposed of, as the lodge held an open night. A very large number of members, with their lady friends, participated in the .good things provided by the Linden members. During the evening District President Bro. A. Sunderland presented a P.A. diploma to P.A. Bro. John Duff, and complimented him on the manner in which he had conducted the business of the lodge while under his charge. Bro. Duff, in responding, stated that he would continue to take a keen interest, in the lodge and order. Dancing was kept up till midnight. Several musical items were contributed. Bro. Harness acted as M.C., and thanked the visitors for their attendance. The Otago Lodge met for aji hour in committee on Wednesday evening, when several suggestions by different brethren were discussed. The propositions were handed over to the By-law Committee to be embodied in the new by-laws. The ordinary lodge meeting was then held, Arch DruM Bro. Sutton occupying the chair. One candidate was initiated, and one brother accepted a clearance. An invitation was accepted from the Hibernian Society to a card party. The lod.go decided to invito the members of Court Woodland's Pride to a musical evening, to be followed by a dance. Several members contributed to harmony. The loyal and Druidic toasts wero responded to by Bros. Logie, M'Donald, Jeffs, Gerrie/ Paul, and Kelly. —A Successful Undertaking.— A meeting of persons interested in the holding of the 42nd gala of the United Ancient. Order of Druids was held in the Town Hall. Melbourne, to receive the final report of the bazaar committee. The report presented by Alderman Brcnan stated that the proceeds from the stalls amounted to £12,053, mado up na follows :—Melbourne and Motor £2,435, Druids' and Sweet £1,476, Nurses' £1,343, South Melbourne £1,075, Fitzrov £Bl5. Caulfield £Bl2, Hawthorn £603, Collingwood £525, Malvern £4Bl, Brunswick £414, St. Kilda £352, Port Melbourne £260. Williamstown £243, Hopetonn Ward £240, Richmond £223, Prahan £154, Essendon £l4B, Busy Bee £142, Preston £132, Northcote £93, Footscray £32, Brighton £3l. Williamstown, Footscray, Brighton, Northcote, and Essendon were not represented by stalls, but the amount* opposite their names were raised by local entertainments. The net profit of the undertaking, as shown in the balance-sheet, inclusive of the sum of £l,lBO received from the Druids' Gala, amounted to £11,704. The expenditure was only £1,653. The committee believe this to be a record profit in the history of bazaars, as the profit of the Druids' Melbourne Hospital bazaar, held in 1900, was only £10,549, and that had been the rocord up to the present.
