TRINITY CHURCH JUBILEE

A large number of Methodists and Primitive Methodists gathered at Trinity Church last night. Fourteen ministers were present, viz:—Revs 1\ W. Fairplough, W. C. Oliver. W. Slaele, J). J. Murray, 0. Knowles Smith, K. Drake, r. W. Vealie. F. T. Reid, C. Blair, J. B. Pickling, E. Bandy. A. J. Seamer, 1. .J. Newbold, and W. Tinsley. , It was a family gathering 01 a devotional character. ' Suitable hymns, solos, duets, and quartets were sung. The happy departed were commemorated, and the blessings 50 years of church life given were the subject of thanks. Instead of reading the Scriptures the congregation were invited to repeat favorite passages of Scripture. To this there was a hearty response. Verses of hymns that had helped were also asked for and readily given. A large number mentioned various incidents of their experiences, and spoke of good men who had passed away. Several greetings were added to those of yesterday, including one from the Rev. W. Saunders, whom the chairman described as their beloved neighbor; and another trom the Rev. W. 11. and Mrs Beck, now residing at North Shore. Auckland. Mr Beckentered the ministry ffom Trinity circuit in 1868, and Mrs Beck (formerly Miss Chapman) was the first organist. ._ Young people who took a prominent part in the singing at the meeting were Misses Ackroyd, P. We.4. M. Keast, Jessie Maxwell, and Vera Mayall. and Messrs A. Greenwood and H. Tregear and Miss Dorothv Rosevear recited 'Rock ot Ages. After the Lord's Supper had been dispensed bv the visifinir ministers, a very hearty meeting was brought to a close-by singing " Ood will take care of you. The final meeting of the series is to take the form of a reunion of-the past and present Sunday school.
