A London cable states that the tallow sales have not yet been held. On the Christchurch Exchange sales reported to-day were : —New Zealand Insurance, 97s 3d ; Union Steam, 45s 3d. Money was disposed of last night in each of the three groups of the Dunedin Starr-Bowkett Building Society. Mr G. T. Scoones presided. In No. 1 group the 253 rd appropriation of £SOO was drawn by cluster No. 137, held t>y two shareholders. There being no purchasers for the 254 th appropriation of £SCO, it was balloted for, and cluster No. 338 was drawn, held by two shareholders. In No. 2 group the 115 th appropriation of £SCO was disposed of by ballot, cluster No. 222 being drawn, held by two shareholders. The 116 th appropriation of £SOO was sold at a premium of £l3 per cent. In No. 3 group the ninth appropriation of £SCO was disposed of by ballot, cluster No. 218 being drawn, held by one shareholder. Threshing reports from Kansas forecast a yield of 100,0C0,0C0 bushels. BUTTER AND CHEESE. Mr J. R. Scott, secretary of the South Island Dairy Association, has received the following London cable :—" New Zealand butter, salted and unsaited, 114s; market quiet. New Zealand cheese, : White, 675; colored, 68s; market steady. Canadian cheese, 64e to 655." Cable advice from Canada states that the market continues active at higher prices, and that the Canadian production of cheese cannot exceed that of last year. MUTUAL MONEY CLUB. The seventh annual report of the Dunedin and Suburban Mutual Money Club states that the club have completed another six months' works, which terminates! the seventh year, and the results thus far are extremely satisfactory to the members and trustees. Tho second dividend of 9d in the pound for the year, making a rate equal to 7-£ per cent, on members' subscription accounts, has been declared. In addition, the reserve account has been, increased to £450, and, after allowing for unearned interest, the balance is bein/? carried forward to profit and loss account. The club have lent £34,336 during their seven years' existence. Messrs R. Farrant, j. S. Hislop, and H. Stokes, the present trustees, and the members' auditor (Mr George Blythe, F.P.A.N.Z.) retire according to the rules, but offer themselves for reelection.
