Tho half-yearly installation meeting of Linden Lodge, which took place at Roslyn last evening, was presided over by W.G. Bro. H. A. Davidson, and a large "number of members were in attendance. A request from Alfred Ledge (Oamaru) for the use of the lodge's regalia for the public installation was granted. After the transaction of the ordinary business of the lodge, the District D.G. Master, assisted by G. Sire Bro. W. Reid. acting G.W. Bro. Wm. Smith, acting G. Marshal Bro. Kilpatrick. D.D.G.M., acting G. Chaplain Bro. L. Kemnitz, and acting G. Guardian Bro. A. Bremner, appeared in order to install into their respective offices, the elected and appointed officers of the lodge for tho incoming term. " The ceremony was a very impressive one, and was witnessed by a large number of Oddfellows. The Grand Lodge officers then installed Bro. H. A. Davidson as 1.P.G., Bro. Alex. Laureneon as N.G., Bro. Brandon as V.G., Bro. J. S. Wilson as secretary as warden, Bro. J. Maeterton as conductor. The other appointments were : R.S. to N.G., Bro. W. Smith; L.S. to N.G.. Bro. W. Smart; R.S.S., Bro. Slater; L.S.S., Bro. D. Ross; chaplain, Bro. G. H. Baker; R.S. to V.G., Bro. J. Ovens; L.S. to V.G., Bro. W. Ovens. After the A.G. Marshal had proclaimed the various officers installed in regular form, repast was partaken of, and pleasure was expressed that Linden Lodge had eo well maintained their position at the top of the hill, and that so many who in the pact years had borne the heat and burden of the day still manifested a keen and anxious interest in the welfare of their lodge. Vocal items, rendered by Bros. A. Bremner, J. 11. Hinton, J. S. Nelson, B. J. Smith. T. Slater, and J. Ovens, helped to enliven the enjoyable evening spent by all who were present, not the least agreeable- part of tho programme being a number of toasts, which were honored and acknowledged by the respective recipients.
