[Peb United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 18. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Mr Riddell. S.M.", gave his reserved judgment in tho case againet Matthew Livingstone, who w«6 charged with being a bookmaker. The charge was based on the ground that he had mnde a bet in an hotel. Defendant denied making the bet, and fa.id he had not done any bookmaking for two years. He wae convicted and fined £2o.'
