THE SPORTS.
To the Editor. Sir, —With permission, 1 beg to draw the attention of the Caledonian Society to what may be called a general complaint. It is the refusal to give pass-out checks except to those who can afford to occupy the grand stand. iN o doubt they have r asons why it is so ; but I say that a generous public are entitled to know why they are put to this inconvenience. If the prosperity of such a grand institution would be impaired, even to a slight degree, 1 for one would be quite satisfied with the present arrangement. J also beg to suggest that water and drinking cups be provid.’d. It would be a pity to spare the slight outlay required. What a great boon for the hundreds of children attending the Caledonian sports and other gatherings.—l am, & c., J. L. Dunedin, December 27.
