The amount of revenue received at the Customhouse on goods cleared for consumption this day wan 1.2,021 lis sd. Messrs M'Landress, Hepburn, and Co. to-day submitted for sale the booths in connection with the File Brigade's demonstration, but the prices bid did not come up to the reserve. Mr Henry Driver (on behalf of the N.Z.L. and M.A. Co) reports for the week ending December 20, as follows : Fat Cattle.—Only a small supply of 50 head were yarded, graziers, no doubt, anticipating that Christmas requirements would have been supplied by previous purchases and yesterday's sale at the Fat 8 ock Exhibstion. The small number offered today, however, brought rather better than last week s quotations-say up to 32s per lOOlbs. BeSides 30 head privately, we sold Mr Malcolm Car--10 a £? lß r, five George Wilson's first prize heifers at L3l £ a JS anp £ ly . ibout 20 were yarded to-day, and brought from 25s to 70s, according to size and quality. «**.««« Fat Sheep.-2.800 came forward, of which only one-half were sold. Best quality cross-breds realised from 10s to 12s each, wfth dull competition. Medium quality merinoes, 6a each Borne extraordinary good sheep were shown yesterday at the Fat Stock Exhibition, the prize pen realising as high as L2 each. These prices, however, were simply fancy rates, the butchers competing with each, other who should obtain t'ie * or their Christmas show of meat. We sold Messrs Blues and Duthie's first prize ewes and lambs at full rates,

Fat Lambs.—About 300 were penned, beat quality ■Tipping 8s 64 to 10a; interior to medium,6s to Tifld. j Cattle—We hate no alteration to make in quotations for this description of stock, the demand continuing Rood at L 7 10s to tS 10s for bullock*, and L 5 to L6loa for cows. Store Sheep.—We are not aware of any important transactions having yet taken place. Inquii ies, however, are being made, more particularly for young breeding merino ewes and merino lamba. Cross-breda are also wanted, but prices have not yet been arranged between buyers and sellers. Wool.—Up to the present time no public sales of any importance have been held, owinsr, no doubt, to the had weather, which has retarded shearing operations. As yet only a portion of a few clips has reached town. We have little doubt there will be buyers for all wool offering at a fair margin on late London prices, and there is every prospect of large transactions, unless holders demand prices beyond which buyers will not be justified in going. At our ordinary weekly sale to-day we offered 80 farmers' lots, all of which sold at—for greasy merino and cross-breds, 7|d to MM: washed do, 12|d to 15|d. Sheepskins were in small supply. Dry cross-breds sold at 5s Id to 5s 3d; merinos, 8s lOd to 4s ltd; lambskins, 6d to Is Id. Hides were in good demand at the late advance. Wet salted, 3sd to 4sd for heavy weights; green butchers, 21s 6d. Tallow sells readily at advanced rates; 30s to 31s 6d for medium country rendered. Grain.—There is no alteration in price of wheat or flour; fowls'wheat scarce at ss. Oats: Few offering ; feed, 28 3d; milling, 2s 4d. Barley for feeding purposes much inquired for; little offering; malting samples are more firmly held.
