CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

At the Board meeting yesterday there were present—Messrs Rutherford (in the chair), Bridgman, Wilson, and Langmuir. Messrs Rutherford and Bridgman, who were appointed at the last meeting to treat with Mr Broderick for the purchase of the laud surrounding the Board's quarry, reported that they had arranged with Mr Broderick ror the land, which action was approved by the Board, The Board has thus acquired upwards of three acres for quarry purposes. In order to meet the requirements of the new Bating Act, the Board agreed to end the flniincial year on the 31st March, instead of, as formerly, on the 30th June, aud to collect 9d in the £ insiead of Is, this financial year being only nine months. Mr John Cameron was appointed valuator under the new Act. The Inspector was authorised to make some repairs to St. Peter street, at its junction with the Main South road.
