THE OAMARU AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

The thirteenth show of the Northern Association, was held, yesterday. The weather was miserably wet and cold. Notwithstanding this there was a large attendance at the show. The entries in the various classes numbered 717, as compared with 400 last year. Messrs Paterson and Weedon gained the silver cup, valued at 10 guineas, for the largest prize-taker in the thorough-breds; Messrs Fleming and Hedley the silver enp, valued at twenty guineas, for the largest prize-taker in Ayrshires; Messrs Borton and M‘Master a similar cup for the largest prize-taker in the merinos, beating the Hon. R. Campbell by one point only ; Messrs Gillies and Street taking the silver cup of twenty guineas, and the principal honors in the Leicester class. For dairy produce, Mr Alexander Graham secured the silver cup of ten guineas as the largest prize-taker ; Messrs Jack, State, and Hendry the silver medal of ten guineas as the largest prize-takers in the agricultural implement department. Messrs Groves and Co.’s (Dunedin) buggy received a prize, while that exhibited by Messrs Robin was greatly admired. Mr G. Menlove ‘ carried off the silver cup, valued at twenty guineas, as the largest prize-taker in the Lincoln class; and Dr Webster secured that for the Romney Marsh class, almost without competition.
