Fort Chalmers. ARHIVED. November 14.—Arawata, s.s., 628 tons, Underwood, from Melbourne via the Bluff. Passengers: Mesdames Campbell, Henderson, Tootall, Misses Grant, Campbell, Henderson, Batement; Messrs Mendershausen, Murphy, Adein, Cook, Low, De Beer, Bromley, Wright, Wragge: and forty-eight in the steerage. Alhambra, s.s., 496 tons, Muir, from Melbourne via the Coast. Passengers: Messrs Hickson, A. Boss, Macgown, D. Boss, Mr and Mrs Anderson; and seventeen in the steerage. SAILED. . November 14.—Waitaki, s.s., 229 teas, Edie, for Oamaru. The s.s. Arawata arrived at Port Chalmers at 7 a.m. this morning, with cargo and passengers from Melbourne. She left that port at 10 p.m. on the 9th inst.; had strong westerly winds the first two days, and at 4 p.m. on the 12th the wind shifted to the N., increasing to a heavy gale, with a fierce breaking sea, which lasted till passing the Solanders at 9 a.m. on the 13th. During the gale she lost part of her bulwarks. Arrived at the Bluff at 2 p.m. same day, having made a good run of four days; left the Bluff at 7.30 p.m., and arrived at Port Chalmers as above.
