SIR J. VOGEL'S EXPENSES.

Canceraing that L 2.750 to Sir Julius Vogel which the Assembly would hot vote, there is still something to be said; Phr a time au impression prevailed that Sir Julius Vogel had actually drawn the money in adv‘u*°® j a .pd spent it, ia the expeotation tfaat the Colony would readily grant- him the extra vote. Afterwards, however, it was made plain that Sir Julius_Vogel had not actually, received the L2j750 from the Colony, but that he only asked .to he repaid it, alleging that he was out of pocket to that extend Now (remarks the *Ppst > ) have been always cabled himaelf^a ; pooh came to have this L 2.750 tokpendjwhenbw pay -and-travelling allowances had become exhausted!. He applied to a bank in London to advance what money he wanted and obtained this sum, or thereabouts, as -a matter of pernmiiJ arrangement, on the security; duly&ven in writings of himself arid friends.
