A CONVENTION.
The following circular has been issued by the Superintendent:— Superintendent’s Office, a t - ~ , Dunedin, October 24,1876. Sir,—l have the honor to request that you will be good enough to attend a meeting of members of ttie House of Representatives and of the Provincial Council, Mayors of Municipalities, Chairmen of District Road Boards and of local Education Com. mittees, to be held in the Provincial Council H«n Dunedin, on Wednesday, the Bth November n CT t at twelve o clock noon, to confer and determine as to the best means of extricating the Province of Otago from the evil results involved in the Abolilion of Provinces Act. I need not say that the present is a crisis which demands the most serious attention of all earnest men among ns who have the future welfare of the Province at heart, and I venture to hope that the; e will be a goodly muster of such at the proposed meeting, which need not occupy more ttmn ©no or two days.—l have, &0., J.
