At the Temper&noe Hall last evening a large M&ence witnessed the viewß of English scenery exhibited by means of lime-light. The entertainmm: onJy remain on .View a few nights longer. The Port people will be afforded an opportunity to-morrow night of visiting the opera, as a special train is to he run. The opportunity s onld not be lost, as the season will be a short one, and it is not Intended to repeat any opera. Mr Thatcher, agent for J. K. Emmett, has arranged with the management of the Princess's for the production there of " Fritz," commencing on or about the 18th prox, and inform* us that there will bo a st*ong cast of suborui> ate characters. The orchestra will also be remodelled and augmented. Mr Thatcher proceeds North to-mor-row to arrange for Mr Emmet's appearances in Christchufch and "Wellington. jj^nexcellent programme was provided at.the Princess's last night, and as might have been expected there was a numerous audience. " Grimaldi" was played for the first time, Mr Dampier appearing as an old French actor, and giving an artistic rendering of the pait. " Qur Em'ly " concluded the entertainment, and those who have not seen Mr Dampier as Peggotty, Mrs Hill as the heroine, and Mr SaviUo as Micawber, should make a point of attending this evening, when last night's programme will he repeated. Mr Dampier announces his benefit for Friday, and we trust tae public will show their appreciation of so excellent an actor by according him a full house.
